More than a decade ago, Dr Will Tan-Orders served as a medic in the Singapore Army and taught swimming to children and adults. These experiences helped establish his passion for healthcare and education.
He later completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Pharmacology, a Graduate Diploma of Education in Secondary Teaching and a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne.
Will believes dentistry should focus not only on teeth, but also on the person they belong to. Patients value his friendly, down-to-earth manner and practical approach to care.
He has worked throughout Australia, from supporting the Gomeroi community in remote New South Wales to treating families in Ballarat, Geelong and Melbourne. His experience spans public, private and philanthropic dental services. He also works with Barwon Health providing care to communities and supported residential services on the Bellarine.
Will regularly travels within Australia and overseas for professional education. He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Implants (ACDP) in Sydney and has gained membership with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS). He is also a longstanding member of the Australian Dental Association.
Will lives in Geelong with his wife Nicole and dog Nami, a kelpie-heeler rescue with boundless energy. He volunteers as a musician in Melbourne, performing for residents of aged-care and dementia facilities. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music by the waterfront, surfing Torquay back beach, and playing tennis at the Geelong Lawn Tennis Club.
